Beware, scams remain active
Last year, Machinery Trade International reported extensively on a series of scams apparently linked to traders registered in the United Arab Emirates.While fewer reports of such activity have been forthcoming in recent months, it appears the scams remain ongoing, as Robert Potts of Ipswich-based RPM Fuels & Tanks Ltd can confirm.
"On 9 December we were emailed by a company from the United Arab Emirates calling themselves Al-Wajud Muktabir Trading LLC (Reg. 97411) requesting a quote for equipment," he says.
