Manufacturing remains steady

Data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that manufacturing output in the latest three months (June, July and August 2011) was 0.4% higher than in the previous three months and 2.5% higher than in the same period last year.
On the same basis, output of the capital goods industries grew by 0.3% and 6.1% respectively.
